The romantic drama starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon could only reach a single-digit audience and needs strong word of mouth to grow.
Box Office Results of Shehzada on Day two (Preliminary Estimate): Shehzada, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, was launched late today. After a weak pre-sale report, the Rohit Dhawan-directed film hopes to boost its opening day box office. This is Kartik’s second film, after the enormous success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which grossed a huge amount on its opening day last year.
Industry website sacnilk reported that Shehzada has sold around 22,000 tickets in more than 3,000 cinemas in India, where it was released today. In the three national cinema chains PVR, INOX and Cinepolis, only 12,000 first-day tickets were sold as of 1 p.m. Thursday. Not only is that not even close to half of what Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 achieved last year, but it is also one of the lowest advance ticket sales for a prominent Bollywood actor since COVID.
The film directed by Anees Bazmee had a fantastic box office of Rs 14.11 crore net, which was the second biggest opening record for a Bollywood film in the post COVID era at that time. On the first day, the film had a pre-sale of about Rs 6.50 crore. However, based on the pre-sales of Shehzada, it seems that the film could gross between Rs 5-7 crore and Rs 7 crore on the opening day if it receives positive reviews.
The Mahashivratri holiday falling on a Saturday, February 18, is another factor that can help Shehzada scale, especially in the North Belt. First day box office results for Shehzada: Kartik Aaryan and his Luka Chuppi co-star Kriti Sanon are back on the big screen. The duo’s latest film, Shehzada, hit theaters on February 17 and is expected to gross big on its first day.
